Relic Hybrid Telecaster / Strat Guitar, HSH Layout, Recycled Materials, UK Made

1960s Inspired Stratocaster / Telecaster Hybrid Guitar—a true musical chimera! Let’s dissect this intriguing creation:

  1. Body Origins: Picture a rat-infested shed in North Devon—the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll magic! The body is a patchwork quilt of salvaged materials: roofing timber, a broken Stratocaster, a 1970 Austrian cupboard, and Exmoor Spruce. It’s like a musical Frankenstein, stitched together with love and a touch of rebellious spirit. And that yellow and natural wood finish? It’s sunshine and earth meeting in harmony.

  2. Jedson-Stratocaster Lovechild: The body, inspired by 1960s Japanese Jedson guitars, is routed to accommodate a standard Stratocaster scratchplate and tremolo unit. HSH routing means it’s ready for sonic exploration—humbuckers, single coils, and everything in between. Imagine the notes it’ll sing, like a time-traveling troubadour!

  3. Neck Revival: The maple neck, refurbished and reborn, carries its own stories. Dark fretboard—like midnight secrets whispered to the strings. New machine heads ensure tuning stability, and the complete tremolo bridge adds a touch of dive-bombing drama. The scratchplate? It’s like a canvas for your musical graffiti.

  4. Hybrid Soul: This guitar isn’t just wood and metal; it’s a fusion of past and present, grit and grace. It’s the rebel yell of a broken Stratocaster meeting the stoic elegance of an Austrian cupboard. And Exmoor Spruce? Well, that’s the forest’s heartbeat strummed into existence.

  5. Nitro Finish: Ah, the neck wears a nitro finish—a nod to vintage vibes. It’s like a well-aged wine, improving with time and resonating with every chord you play.

Now, imagine plugging it into an amp. What songs would spill forth? Maybe some psychedelic riffs, bluesy bends, or rock anthems that defy decades. And that rat-infested shed? It’s now a sacred space where music was reborn.

If this guitar could talk, what tales would it tell? Perhaps of moonlit jam sessions, forgotten melodies, and the ghosts of rock legends nodding in approval.

Fender Squier YN Neck Plate Partscaster

This 1990s Fender Squier Stratocaster is a solid black electric guitar, 4/4 size and is a 6-string configuration. The guitar is right-handed and has a new nitro neck with a bone nut fitted.

I bought this Stratocaster body as a 1990s Squier YN laminated body many years ago however, please examine the photographs to draw your own conclusion to its origins. I have no reasons to doubt this as I purchased it in good faith. Originally fitted with a Squier neck which was sadly banana shaped, now fitted with a ‘Rat Bait’ neck that has a reliced nitro finish.

The general condition of the body is very good for its age. I have replaced the tremolo springs (the original ones were rusty) with new replacement ones. If you look at the image of the neck pocket you can see a number has been stamped in it.

The tremolo and jack plug boat chrome work is not new and were most probably fitted when the guitar was originally assembled.

  • Replacement tremolo springs
  • Replacement electrics and pickups
  • Maple Nitro Neck
  • Bone Nut
  • Approx neck pocket width 56.5mm
  • Approx body thickness 40mm
  • Loaded body weight 2.24kg (without neck and machine heads)
  • New machine heads
  • New strings (Savarez 9-42 extralight)
  • New guitar strap

The black body and reliced nitro maple fretboard give it a classic look and feel. With a 6 string configuration and right-handedness, this guitar is perfect for any player looking for a quality partscaster. The refurbished parts and 4/4 size make it a great addition to any collection. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, this guitar is sure to impress on looks alone.

Relic Stratocaster Body – Weight 2.38kg

Relic Stratocaster Style Guitar Body – 2.38kg – 1990s – Part loaded

This Stratocaster style body is routed to take all types of pickup layouts.

This body was bought a few years ago and was sold to me as made by Hohner. The body has gone through several colour changes during its life, yellow, a small amount of blue, black, grey and white. The body has been hand sanded smooth and sealed so would require very little work to complete . There are several historical scratches in the body that have come from previous owners sanding back to repaint and playing etc. but as I previously said these have been sanded smooth. The material used to make it is unknown but is very heavy.
